Description
The overall composition of this handwoven carpet is based on the Medallion Corner (lachak-toranj) design, one of the most authentic and enduring patterns in the Persian rug tradition. The field is rendered in a vibrant turquoise blue, creating a fresh and visually engaging background while providing an ideal setting for the refined decorative motifs. At the center of the composition is an elaborate multi-part medallion, executed in a harmonious combination of navy blue, turquoise, pink, cream, and deep lacquer red. Accentuated by flowing golden leaves and Shah Abbasi floral motifs, the medallion forms the principal focal point of the design. The field is richly ornamented with khataei spirals decorated with roses, flower buds, and gracefully curving leaves, creating a harmonious relationship among the various decorative elements. In the four corners, floral lachak panels enriched with colorful bouquet motifs complete the visual balance of the composition. One of the principal decorative motifs employed in this handwoven carpet is the rose, or Gol-e Farang (European flower), which is regarded as one of the most significant and aesthetically refined floral motifs in the Persian rug tradition. Beyond its decorative appeal, this motif reflects the historical exchange between Iranian art and culture and the artistic traditions of other civilizations. Although this handwoven carpet does not feature a conventional principal border, a continuous arrangement of floral and foliate motifs surrounds the field, forming an elegant decorative frame that visually defines the composition. The color palette comprises a harmonious range of turquoise, navy blue, gold, deep lacquer red, pink, lilac, cream, white, light blue, green, and brown, all of which are set against the turquoise ground to achieve a particularly vibrant visual effect. The use of golden tones in the flowing leaves, together with the contrast between warm and cool colors, enhances the visual depth of the composition and reinforces the luxurious character of the handwoven carpet. It should be mentioned that this rug has Iran, Qom, Mousavi phrase in .Persian that has been appended to the rug after weaving process
